This is a full-time, entry-level apprenticeship designed to prepare candidates for a future as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Journeyman within our company. The Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Apprentice will perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and document findings
  • Troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment
  • Operate hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities
  • Assist with inventory tracking and reporting for HVAC supplies and parts
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and assist in emergency repairs
  • Participate actively in safety and skills training as directed
  • Comply with safety standards, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
  • Perform general site clean-up and organization tasks as directed by the supervisor
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within an industrial setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Industry-standard HVAC certifications or licenses - EPA Section 608, OSHA
  • 1-2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Familiarity with HVAC safety standards and procedures
