The Buyer II is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies, and services to support operational needs. The Buyer II focuses on cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement of procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supplier selection process and cultivating ongoing supplier relationships to ensure performance standards for quality, delivery, cost, and production are met
  • Forecast material requirements based on production plans and business needs
  • Execute purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications
  • Monitor inventory levels to include ensuring materials are replenished  based on production plans and packaging requirements
  • Review supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities to include negotiating pricing, contracts, and rebates to maintain price competitiveness
  • Utilize and maintain the ERP system (NetSuite) for purchasing, inventory management, and supplier data
  • Contribute to process improvements within the procurement team, leveraging ERP capabilities
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to understand and communicate material requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in purchasing, supply chain, or related field
  • 2-4 years of supply chain planning/purchasing experience
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation principles
  • Experience with supplier relationship management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite)
  • Experience in consumer goods, manufacturing industry
