The Machine Shop Attendant is responsible for assisting in the operation of machinery and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, organize, and take inventory of shop tools and racks for ordering purposes
- Clean all machines, workbenches, work areas, steel cages, welding shop, and CNC area
- Sandblast when needed, monitor all tool bins, and attend to all lighting needs
- Assist machine operators in setting up and operating machines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the machine shop
- Perform routine maintenance on machines as needed
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines
- Complete all assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Must be able to read caliper, standard, and metric tape measures
- Basic understanding of machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Must bring own tools; Swisher does not supply tools
- Ability to work in a team environment
