The Financial Analyst I (Operations) drives manufacturing profitability through comprehensive financial analysis and operational efficiency optimization. This role serves as the critical bridge between finance and operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting while providing analytical insights that support strategic decision-making across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily inventory transactions with 100% accuracy within ERP systems, including work orders, assembly builds, transfers, receipts, and adjustments across multiple manufacturing facilities and third-party warehouses
  • Process and close work orders for internal manufacturing operations while coordinating with production teams to ensure seamless workflow continuity
  • Perform ERP system data cleanup and integrity checks to maintain database accuracy
  • Monitor and investigate significant variances between actual and standard costs, identifying patterns that impact manufacturing profitability
  • Analyze operational financial results, including direct and indirect overhead, manufacturing variances, and maintain precise inventory valuations
  • Prepare comprehensive graphs, charts, and tables related to monthly production results that drive operational decision-making
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to resolve transaction discrepancies and validate complex operational accounting transactions
  • Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate cost allocations across business units
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cost accounting functions
  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes through journal entries and reconciliations related to inventory valuation and cost of goods sold
  • Conduct cycle count reconciliations and process inventory adjustments based on physical verification results, including participation in annual inventory audits at manufacturing locations
  • Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes for manufacturing costs, providing historical transaction data and trend analysis
  • Support ad hoc reporting requirements and special projects related to inventory optimization and cost reduction initiatives
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end audit documentation
  • Review vendor invoices for raw material purchases and maintain transactional documentation that supports audit requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Follow established internal controls and procedures while identifying opportunities for process enhancement and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar field
  • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing operations support, cost accounting, or financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory management systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and complex data manipulation for transactional analysis
  • Knowledge of standard costing methodologies and variance analysis in manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, bill of materials, work order management, and supply chain logistics
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to identify data discrepancies and resolve complex transaction issues
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to follow established procedures while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities with experience working across multiple departments and external vendors
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar), in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in manufacturing environments
  • Project management experience in process improvement initiatives
  • CPA or CMA candidate
