The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machine tools to produce
precision parts and components used in manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery to
support precision computer-aided manufacturing. Responsible for programming, setup, and
execution of CNC operations to produce high-quality components that meet exact
specifications, while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety and industry
standards. - Operates and maintains precision machining equipment, including grinders, lathes, milling
machines, and drilling tools. Responsible for setting up, adjusting, and safely running these
machines to fabricate components to exact specifications, ensuring accuracy, efficiency,
and adherence to quality and safety standards. - Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine machining
requirements, specifications, and tolerances. Translates design documents into accurate
production processes, ensuring components are fabricated to precise dimensions and
quality standards. - Applies strong mathematical skills to perform precise measurements, calculations, and
dimensional analysis during machining processes. Ensures accuracy in maintaining
tolerances, verifying specifications, and producing components that meet rigorous quality
and technical standards. - Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey technical
information, collaborate with team members, and document machining processes. Ensures
clarity in instructions, reports, and production records to support accuracy, efficiency, and
compliance with organizational standards. - Utilizes strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans
based on technical specifications and production requirements. Evaluates processes,
identifies potential challenges, and implements solutions that optimize efficiency, maintain
quality standards, and ensure components are produced to precise tolerances. - Applies strong problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues that arise
during the manufacturing process. Develops and implements effective solutions to minimize
downtime, maintain production efficiency, and ensure components meet quality and safety
standards. - Performs reverse engineering of replacement equipment parts by analyzing existing
components, creating technical drawings, and developing accurate specifications. Ensures
compatibility and functionality of newly fabricated parts, supporting maintenance operations
and minimizing equipment downtime. - Maintains a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations to promote a safe
working environment and reduce the risk of workplace accidents. Consistently applies
safety protocols, conducts proper equipment handling, and ensures compliance with
organizational and regulatory standards to safeguard employees and maintain operational
efficiency.
